The Bernard M was fully outfitted to the client’s specifications. Throughout the project, we actively contributed ideas and responded flexibly to requirements and modifications. The result is a unique inland tanker with a strong focus on sustainability and a high-quality finish.
The wheelhouse was custom-built with distinctive interior panelling. At the owner’s request, the traditional U-shaped layout was replaced by a configuration featuring two separate islands and five vertically positioned consoles. This unique arrangement offers a premium appearance while maintaining excellent visibility for the captain.
A strong focus was placed on durability through the extensive use of stainless steel, including deck valves, through-deck fittings and cable trays.
The engine room was also fully customised and finished to a high standard, with numerous components integrated into the floor and cabinets integrated into the walls. The aluminium floor plates were produced and installed in-house.
The ship is equipped with a dual piping system and coated cargo tanks, making it suitable for the transport and delivery of a wide range of products. The complete piping system was realised at our shipyard, from technical drawings and measurements to fabrication, welding and installation.
This project demonstrates that modifications can still be accommodated at an advanced stage of construction. Thanks to flexibility and short communication lines, changes were implemented efficiently, resulting in a ship where every detail reflects the owner’s vision.
